2001 - Jonathan's
Birthday Bash!!!
SAN JOSE, CA - Argh Matey!! Who's our 
favorite
4 year old pirate? Why it's Jonathan, of course! This year, our little
guy invited four other shipmates to join him for his birthday bash.
The party took sail at 1600 hours on Sunday the 12th of August (2 sleeps before his actual birthday). First thing on the agenda was to have every crew member make themselves a hat to wear for the rest of the event. Glitter and smashing colours were meticulously applied to the headwear. Our little mateys all looked wonderful!
Second on the agenda was an amazing treasure hunt
(set up by Senior Pirate Bill). We 
had
all the little pirates scavenging for hints and clues all over and around
the house until they finally came to their special surprise: a treasure
chest (implemented by Lady Pirate Christiane) filled with gold and treats
to share. What fun to watch them running around so excited and giggly!
The celebration would not be complete without a table adorned
with nibbles and snacks, and then of course... a five star Pirate 
Ship
Birthday Cake which made many go "oooh!" and "aaaaah!". Jonathan
will never forget those Gummy Life Savers™ for windows and blue Gummy
Sharks swimming in the waves around the boat... it was a real treat!
Every kid I know gets excited when it's time to open presents.
No exception here. Jonathan tore through the ribbons and paper to 
quickly
see his surprises: really cute car night lights, a collection of stretchy
creatures, a remote control dump truck, a PlayMobil™ garbage truck and....
Buzz Lightyear wings. All super gifts which are played with every
day!
The day finally ended with a shark piñata who just didn't want to make it easy on anybody... even the adults couldn't easily defeat him! A shark with a bite, I say. But even the toughest shark must surrender, and finally we were showered by hundreds of treats!
A wonderful time was had by all. Thank you to everyone for your presence and making this a very special birthday for our little guy!
