CHRISTIANE'S FAMILY AND FRIENDS SINCE 2001
The world was blessed in June 2001 by the birth of a very special little girl. Name: EVELINE
Mary Mitchell
MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - Christiane and Bill Mitchell were expecting their daughter on the 23rd of June, but baby #2 was in no rush of stepping foot into the light. Eveline Mary Mitchell finally arrived 4 days later on the 27th at 2h45 in the afternoon, weighing a healthy 9lbs 6oz and measuring 21 1/2in in length. Contractions apparently started early on Wednesday morning at around 4h30am, and the expecting couple made their way to El Camino Hospital around 11h30am. "I arrived in the labor room and both Christiane and Bill were in great spirits. Her labor was going very well." said Dr. Grolle Obgyn. To speed things up a little, Dr. Grolle made one small medical intervention by breaking her waters. No epidural or sedative were taken by Christiane. According to the proud parents, labor went "smoothly", stating that it took "only 4 pushes for the head and 3 for the rest of the body". A nurse, Lynette, who was present and very helpful at the birth, told reporters that Bill was very supportive and calm throughout the labor. She also mentioned that he managed to capture many moments of the labor on both video and still camera; memories which will for sure be cherished for years to come. At the Mitchell home in San Jose, Grandma and Grandpapa (Margy and Michel Beaulne), were eagerly waiting for the news of their new granddaughter being born. As for Jonathan, their son of 4 years of age, he was at school as usual, and was soon about to meet his little sister for the very first time. The grandparents received a phone call mere minutes after the delivery. From there they picked-up Jonathan and headed straight to the hospital. It was a very happy reunion. n |
Adorable and Talented SAN JOSE, CA - Much of the world now has been informed of the newest addition to the Mitchell family. The vast majority of their friends and family, unfortunately, live thousands of miles away from San Jose where little Eveline is growing up. We, however, were able to go to their home and see what her latest accomplishments were. We were impressed by her strength. Christiane, Eveline’s proud mother, admits that ever since birth, she never had to hold her head up because she was so strong. Knowing this, we were not surprised to see Eveline, at less than 2 months old, sitting with a straight back or pushing herself up to stand, with hardly any support from her mom. Unlike tiny tots of that age, she was also wide-eyed the whole time we were sitting with the Mitchell’s for the interview. And that smile: worth a million bucks! "I'm Eveline’s BIG brother" exclaimed Jonathan, 4, who seemed ecstatic about his new job title. We sat down with him to find out how he was able to manage the 2 jobs; going to school part-time and being a big helper around the house. He said to us: "I help to change Eveline’s diapers and sometimes I give her baths with Mommy (…) I like to play with her a lot.", "Junior Kindergarten is not interfering with my role as big brother, in fact the social skills I learn at school make me a better brother. More understanding and caring." Oh, okay, he didn't REALLY say that… but we're reporters you know; we tend to exaggerate ‘some’ quotes! At 10 weeks old, Eveline reportedly discovered
that sitting in the Exersaucer™ was a great pass-time and she was soon

Eveline and her parents would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone for their loving wishes, thoughtfulness and wonderful generosity. Here is a list of some people who have contributed and shared our joy baby's arrival: Ilona, Charles & Julia Lindsay
And mostly to our families: Margy & Michel Beaulne
And many many others...
Adorable and Talented (cont'd) reaching and grabbing toys around her. "If I put a marker in front of her, she'll grab it and bang it about 10 times before she throws it on the ground!" says her mom. She also loves to play with dangling toys, such as mobiles and hanging rattles from her car seat. Teething has already proven to be a problem for Eveline at around 11 weeks of age. A few sleepless nights for the parents, but lots of TLC and fortunately the magic of Tylenol™ make it easier on all parties. Thankfully she is agile enough and able to bring teethers to her mouth, although most of the time a fist tastes much better. Finally after only 3 months, Christiane has had to sort through Eveline’s clothing and put away the smaller items. She is not a newborn any longer. Anything which was meant for "up to 10lbs" had to be taken out and stored in a box . For now, Miss Eveline is happily wearing size 3-6 months… but surely not for long. Babies: they grow so fast! n |
