Now pull the canvas over the previously tacked section as tight as you can and secure it. |

The front of the bird is pretty much done. As long as your canvas is not too saggy the painting will tighten it right up. |

Time for the tail.... Draw a Y on your cavas as a guide for cutting. Cut it along the line and be careful, a mistake here is really hard to fix. |

Usig carpet tacks, copper or brass are preferable, tack down the top of the tail. |
| For the underside, fold the cloth under itself and pull tight till you get the look you want. | ![]() |

Left meets right.... Both sides meet along the profile and a nice finish is made by folding the top piece under itself |

Hope you like stappling! Start stapling at the break of the canvas and staple close to each other all around the bottom of the bird. |
