Obituary of Mrs. Anna Chaloupka

Obituary Mrs. Anna Chaloupka, aged 75 years, less 27, was born in Bohemia May 7, 1843, and died at her home in Wilber, April 10, 1919. All of her surviving children were with her during her last illness. The deceased came to America in 1855, settling near Monmouth, in Jackson Co., Iowa, and coming to Nebraska Sept. 28, 1874. She was united in marriage to Frank J. Chaloupka in 1861. He preceded her in death about 16 months. Mrs. Chaloupka was the mother of 13 children. Joseph, her oldest son, died 6 years ago, Frances and Anna about 4 years ago, and twin brother to William in infancy. The surviving children are: Frank, John, Mike, Edward, Lizzie, Louis, Nettie, William and Hugo. Mrs. Chaloupka's other relatives now living are Dora Matejka, a half sister, older than the deceased; Mary Pegorek, a sister; Joseph Secora, John Secora and Henry Secora, brothers, all of Oxford Junction, Iowa, except John, who lives at DeKalb, Ill. The funeral was held from the late residence in Wilber, Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock. An address was delivered by Mr. F. J. Sadilek. The hymns were sung by the Lutheran choir. Deceased was a faithful wife, a good mother, a kind neighbor, and will be greatly missed. We extend our sympathy to the sorrowing ones. |
