The
branch line was eight miles long with sidings at Redbourn, Hemelite
Company Cupid Green (formerly Claydales Brickworks), Godwins Halt, Hemel
Hempstead (Midland), Cotterells Sidings and Hemel Hempstead Gas Works.
        In
1959 the track between Cupid Green (near Godwins Halt) and the Hemel
Hempstead Gas Works (near Heath Park Halt) was lifted and the viaduct
across Marlowes in Hemel Hempstead removed to allow expansion of the
town centre and the building of a large roundabout.
        A
temporary connection was made between the Gas Works and Hemel Hempstead
& Boxmoor Station to allow coal to be delivered to the Gas Works
until it finally closed in 1960
