Set just after the 100 years War, The King of Rangare leaves only a small girl as heir to a mighty Kingdom. His Brother swears to protect her, despite the sinister schemes of his former friends who would kill both to seize the throne for themselves...

A project that simply grew. Conceived as a 20 minute gothic fantasy, inspired by English folk lore and progressive rock lyrics. Earpwald, from the Saxon Word meaning ?Dark Ruler? came to fruit after the Film Society were loaned 3 cases of costumes and props from the medieval outfitters, Dressed To Kill.

Initially just a fun photo shoot, the society quickly realized the potential to make something really different. Most independent movies are set in the modern age and stick to set rules ? i.e. social problems. EDR sets to capture the grit of indie film making with the fun and sense of adventure of the novels we grew up reading a'la, Narnia, LOTRs, The Black Cauldron, The Mabinogian etc. This is a genuinely nasty, dark story of greed, paranoia and self destruction set in a fictitious medieval state. Shooting has taken place in Belgium, Wales, and Lincoln as well as locally. To get an idea of the movie, two clips are now uploaded, Lady Manzara suggests killing her husband to Queen Durga, and is murdered within minutes of hearing of her nieces downfall...
