This my 3rd RL painting. It is a naive study of depth.
The unlikely ripples, give it a surreal touch. When painting this view
I never knew 19 years before hand, it was the location for the photographing
of Malcolm McLarens post-post-punk band, Bow-wow-wow when they were posing
for the "award winning" cover of the bands first album "Going
Wild in the Country".
I know this because about 2 year after painting this scene, by some
ambient serendipity, I met the photographer
Andy Earle and a BBC 2 film crew here. The BBC had an interest in
the cover design because it was based upon the Manet painting; "Dejeneur
sur l`herbe".
