A.  Name
We do hereby join together in a society to be known as the New Jersey Society for Parasitology.

B.  Objectives
The objectives and purposes are stated in the Preamble.

C.  Membership
Membership is open to any person residing or working in the State of New Jersey or vicinity and interested in the field of Parasitology and the objectives of the society.

 D.  Dues
Membership fee of four dollars will be assessed from each member at the first meeting of the year.  Full-time student members will be assessed at half the regular membership fee.

Only those members who have paid their dues by January 1st shall be entitled to the privileges of active membership.

E.  Meetings
Meetings of the society shall be held four times yearly during October, December, February and April; the time and place to be determined by the officers of the society.

Notice of the meetings shall be mailed at least two weeks before the date of the meeting.

One quarter of the active membership attendance at any regular meeting shall constitute a quorum. 

F.  Officers
The officers of The New Jersey Society for Parasitology shall consist of a President and a Vice-President, each elected for a term of one year, and a Secretary/Treasurer elected for a term of two years.

G.  Election of Officers
A nominating committee of three members shall be appointed by the President prior to the third regular meeting of each year.  The slate of nominations from the nominating committee will be presented at the third regular meeting at which time nominations from the floor will be accepted.

The Secretary/Treasurer will mail ballots after the third meeting.  Elections shall be by majority vote of the members returning ballots.  Incoming officers shall take office at the end of the fourth meeting.

H.  Duties of the Officers
The President shall preside at all meetings, appoint all committees and perform such other duties as may be required of a presiding officer.

The Vice-President shall assist the President in developing the programs of the year and shall assume the duties of the President in his absence.

The Secretary/Treasurer shall keep the minutes of all meetings and carry on the correspondence of the society. This officer will collect and administer the funds of the society and submit a financial report at the first meeting of the year.
