and Henshoo won't nag the user at all :
Just install and use it to your heart's content.
Henshoo can be classified as or be treated like other freeware programs with the condition that nobody may charge any money for Henshoo.

Use and distribute Henshoo freely for any non-commercial individual purposes.

no support, no warranties are offered to the users for any freeware version. and the application help may not be updated concurrently with every new freeware version.
Henshoo is a fully functional freely distributable and usable application provided that no modifications should be made to the original entity of the program.

Henshoo is a 32-bit text/HTML editor and simple RTF viewer (Text Only) for win9x/NT.

Henshoo has been created mainly for editing plain text and creating and editing HTML documents. Viewing rich text ( rtf-extensioned one ) is just a supplementary feature.

·  Features and Characteristics :

The following are some of the implemented functions or the characteristics and what they can do for the user.

  1. Loads files larger than 64KB in size.
  2. Loads not only plain text(.txt) but rich text(.rtf) documents.
    ( RTF auto-detection and conversion : but the embedded graphics cannot be viewed )
  3. Drag & Drop available.

  4. Enhanced MRU Files List :
    • Holds up to maximum 20 items.
    • Name Only (toggle) : Toggles whether to display the file names only of the listed items or to display them along with their full paths.
    • Refresh List : Removes items representing any non-existing files.
    • Remove from List : Removes the MRU item of current file from the list.
    • Short Path/Name : Toggles showing the file paths and names in short format.
    • Remove All : Removes all items listed.

  5. Flexible toolbars provide the user with convenience.
  6. Enhanced HTML editing.
  7. Auto-indent.
  8. Cliptext Window for quick access to text snippets.
  9. Line-trimming (leading and/or trailing spaces).

  10. Auto-copy : As soon as the user selects part of text the copy operation is done automatically.

  11. Auto-paste : The text just copied from any other application is automatically pasted to the current document in Henshoo.

  12. Line-indent : Multi-line indent, -unindent.
  13. External file content insertion.
  14. Prefix/suffix : Prefixes/suffixes the user-input string or character to each line.

If the user is not content with the Windows notepad he or she can use Henshoo instead. Henshoo excels notepad in many aspects :

Gone Problem
There had been a possibility the user might not be able to add text to a new document in Henshoo or to the document loaded into Henshoo when a certain application was running simultaneously with Henshoo.

It is strongly recommended not to save the Rich Text Format ( *.rtf ) files containing embedded notes, hidden attributes, ....etc. with Henshoo. Such extra attributes are lost once the file is saved with Henshoo.

Almost all Henshoo users say they don't like Henshoo and I'm glad they don't. Henshoo users know what this means :



The original Henshoo.exe has been created with no 3rd party controls or components other than those come with the C++ Builder. And I have not been using the RX components, as yet. If any of 3rd party controls or components were used in my application, the name of the author(s) or the company name of that component would appear somewhere on the About Box or in the application's documentation.
