(UPDATED 1 JUL 2002)

As any sailor can tell you, being part of a commissioning crew is a very special event in their naval career.  The experience and challenges have been just as momentous for our first intake of New Entries. Our Warrant was granted by the Navy League of Canada in early November 2000 making us only the second Navy League Cadet Corps in New Brunswick Division.

Our current complement is 5 Officers and 39 Cadets. It is comprised of a Commanding Officer, an Executive Officer, a Training Officer, an Admin Officer, and a Supply Officer. We also have several expert volunteers to assist in Stores, Drill, Sail Instruction, Range Safety and First Aid.

#189 NLCC Oromocto meets Thursday evenings between 6:15pm and 8:45pm at the CFB Gagetown BLDG J-7 ARMOURED SCHOOL. This web site will showcase the cadets of Oromocto and will help them understand the significance of their Maritime heritage as it relates to their surroundings.

The Navy League Cadet  Flag

A design contest was launched in October of 1999 as a part of our 50th Anniversary Celebrations. The intent was to give the Navy League Cadet
Program a distinctive flag to call their own. The best way to do this was to ask the members of  the program to submit designs that they felt represented the spirit of  Navy League Cadets.  Forty-eight submissions were received from Cadets and Officers coast to coast. As most images were submitted by cadets, the national office received everything  from pencil  and crayon drawings to colour computer graphics. The winning submission is shown above. The winning flag  design entry was submitted by Ryan Gilliland from #146 NLCC Adm Bayfield in Elliot Lake,Ont.
