Q.
What software is available to manage my 7110/6210 (and others)?
While LogoManager does most tasks, there is also another piece of software named Oxygen Phone Manager. This software allows you to read, edit, store, load and rewrite the phonebook. Import data from MS Outlook or Lotus Notes and export the data (phonebook) back. Work with the calendar, send SMS and read them as they arrive at your phone, save SMS folder contents, manage WAP bookmarks. Edit caller group logos and more. Currently, this software only supports the following phones: 7110, 6210, 8xxx and you need to have a data cable or IR.
Q.
What does 'Send By Set' mean?
If your phone and network supports it, you can send e-mails and faxes from your mobile phone. You need to have different 'sets' (or settings) for each type of mail (be it fax, SMS or e-mail) E.g. if you wanted to send a fax then you would have to send the fax using the fax set - hence 'Send By Set'
Q.
Where can I purchase just a SIM?
When I enquired about purchasing a Vodafone PAYG SIM at the Carphone Warehouse I was told that the Vodafone shop would sell them but expect to pay £20 - £30 for one! I was also informed that local mobile phone market traders sell them for around £15 - sure enough, nearly all the phone accessory traders at my local market sold SIMs for about £15!
Online you can find SIMs at the following links:

Q.
How do I send an e-mail from my phone?
There is a free service offered by Connectotel. They offer a kind of 'exchange' where you can send an e-mail by simply sending them a text with the e-mail address and then the message, then the e-mail gets forwarded to the address specified. To set this up all you need to do is enter the number (see the website) in your phonebook. Then compose a text as you would except, put the recipients e-mail address at the start of the message e.g. JoeBloggs@JoeBloggs.com Hi Joe, we'll meet at 7pm tonight.
The 'space' after the e-mail address is important. Obviously the e-mail will have to be quite small as the e-mail address will take up some of the characters. In order to receive an e-mail back to your phone you will need to register with them (free).

Q.
I've turned delivery reports on but never get them, why?
Your probably on BT Cellnet. At present they don't support this feature but there is a way around it. Simply add *0# at the start of your message and this should allow you to receive a delivery report.
