We assume this because on the "Manifest of Alien Passengers" of the SS La Touraine, Secondo Navone gives "the name and complete address of nearest relative or friend in country whence alien came" as "Father: Navone, Francesco, Soglio"
I remember my Mother (Della Navone Lau) telling me she had a cousin in Italy who was a Mother Superior...so I wonder if there were any other brothers or sisters to Stefano, Secondo and Pasquale. (Doris Lau Ferrese: 19 May 2001)

My grandparents never learned English and rarely left the farm except for church or family visits. I can picture the beat-up old flatbed truck for taking cantaloupes to Atlantic City. Daddy (Joseph) would take me to see them, and bring his mother an Italian newspaper from the Millville Train Station. While they talked in Italian, I would walk up the road to see Elsie and Tim. Marie was only a little child then. Aunt Kate and Aunt Della learned some Italian too, but eventually they all forgot it. (Vera Navone Langley: September 2001)

She gives her place of birth as "Piova." The family had $8 when they arrived.
It was so hectic arriving at Ellis Island with four small children that my grandmother let another passenger carry some baggage. She and the man never found each other later, so it's a good thing she hadn't handed him one of the kids! (Vera Navone Langley, 30 Aug 2001)
