Allons à Lafayette!

Visiting the Acadian Museum in Erath, LA home town of D. L. Menard. He enjoyed showing us the museum, especially his corner of it. He mentioned, "you know the festival is dedicated to me"... why mais oui, he's on the cover of The Times, Lafayette's weekly tabloid!
The town of Erath is proud of
D. L. Menard! Must have been a Texaco station where he was pumping gas when he wrote the famous song, "La Porte d'en Arriere."

The eve of Festivals Acadiens brought us wonderful presents. A zydeco dance at Vermillionville with John Wilson & the House Rockers with a room full of good dancers! I have to agree with Patsy Hebert, I love this band!

Vermillionville ended early enough to allow us to continue our evening with Steve Riley & the Mamou Toujours Playboyz! What an awesome night with these fiddlers three. David Greely, Kevin Wimmer, Blaine Gaspard, Steve Riley.
Also note, the Cajun display of patriotism - the Acadian flag.
On the other side of the stage, time machine Kevin Dugas, Dirk Powell & Sam Broussard (quel attitude!). The "Boyz" really rocked the Whisky River Landing that night. Terry Angelle even put their name in lights.
