Daine is a strange orphan girl from Galla who has the queer and unpredictable power of wild magic. Fortunately for everyone at the palace, they meet Daine around the time the world is invaded by creatures called Immortals:some good and some bad. The Immortal series chronicles Daine's adventures saving Tortall from the evil claws of Emperor Ozorne of Carthak, dealing w/ immortals, and falling in love w/ her super cool and super powerful teacher Numair. Throughout the series Daine routinely kicks ass and like Alanna (though in a different way) she's an example of grrrl power=:-) |
