Pay No Attention to the Man Behind the Curtain...
Where to start? Well, how about the beginning. I was born on an Air Force base in Dover Delaware, in 1969. I don't remember much from this time (it would be amazing if I did!), but I do know my father retired from the Air Force in 1972, and moved us to California. I lived in Santa Rosa for a while, til about 8 years old, and then we moved to Missouri. I finished High School at Mountain Grove in 1987 and attended college for about 2 years at Southwestern Missouri State University, majoring in Computer Information Services. I joined the military after getting married at the age of 20 to a woman from my home town. After 6 years, and many different deployments, that marriage ended. I won't go into details, lets just say it wasn't good. But we have since reconciled and are friends. I then did a silly thing, and a good thing at the same time. The silly thing? Got married....again. The good thing? I brought a daughter into the world, a wonderful Child at that! That marriage lasted another 6 years (what is it with the 6 year thing?). During that time, I left the military (after 10 years) and moved to England. I could no longer stand living in England, which, while is a GREAT place to visit, I just couldn't live there anymore. I moved to California (Yes, glad to be back in the States!), and started a very good job in the Bay area, where I reside now. I have a girlfriend who I have been living with for the last 6 years, and we recently bought a house in Central Valley area of California. She is a wonderful person, very understanding of me, my needs and my over inflated libido. A person like her doesn't come along very often.
Childhood Friends Some of my childhood friends I still keep in touch with. Most notably, Charles and his brother Leslie. During my teenage years, these two brothers and I used to have many hours of fun playing in thier yard, exploring the creeks and streams, and just generally hanging out. Some of the games we used to play included Ghosts in the Graveyard (a reverse form of hide and seek), Matchbox Cars, toy guns, football and even baseball once in a while (I never was one for that game). In addition to the two brothers, there was James, Terry, Larry, Randy, and the two Marks, as well as the various girlfriends of them. |
Mililtary Friends During the 10 years in the army, you develop a few friends from your journeys around the world. One stands out in memory, Todd. I have since lost touch with him, and that is truly sad. Other comrades include Jeffy, the stuffed Tiger.... OH the stories involved with him and training at Fort Belvoir! |
