to global agriculture. The course includes instruction in agriculture
careers, leadership, communications, and personal finance. The
course also includes instruction on FFA parliamentary procedure,
livestock industry, livestock selection, computer use in agriculture,
adn Ag. Mechanic skills including the use of hand and power
tools, welding, and project construction.

Ag. Science II

This course is designed to introduce and enhance the agricultural
comprehension of students in agribusiness management and the
free enterprise system. it includes a study of economic principles,
budgeting, record keeping, finance, risk management, business
law, marketing, adn careers in agribusiness. The course will
also cover the anatomy and physiology of all types of animals.
This course will cover beef, sheep, and swine management, practices,
and evaluation of these animals. FFA activities will include:
Land judging, livestock judging, dairy cattle judging, public
speaking, and poultry and meats contest at State and District
levels.

Ag. Science III

This course is designed to study different areas in soils,
meat science, and small engines. Students will be able to determine
legal land descriptions, soil structures, and land uses. Students
will also learn about the meat industry by identifying wholesale,
primal, and retail cuts of beef, pork, and lamb. They will be
able to yield and quality grade beef carcasses. Students will
learn the principles of the two and four stroke engines. Students
will disassemble and reassemble a four stroke engine.

Advanced Ag.
(future course)

This course provides continued training through FFA and goes
in depth on marketing options including futures trading with
aid from the DNT market terminal and the Internet. The course
also covers management areas used in a farm and ranch operation.
Computer use with an emphasis in record keeping will also be
included.

Welding
... |
This course is designed to teach students the basic fundamentals
of welding. The students will perform welds with the arc, mig,
tig, and oxy-acetylene equipment. Students will also learn how
to cut metal with power tools, an oxy-acetylene torch, and a
plasma arc torch. Students will learn how to plan and construct
a small project when they have completed their basic skills.

Ag. Construction

This course will cover the types of welding such as arc,
mig, tig, and gas. It will also emphasize gas cutting, tool
and equipment maintenance, hot and cold metal works, as well
as basic procedures when working with fiberglass and plastics.
The course also includes the importance of conservation planning
practices, drainage, and irrigation techniques.

This course will introduce basic engine theory and electricity.
Small engines will be provided for students. Project time will
be provided. Students will also learn about hydraulics, agriculture
structure planning and construction, and concrete and masonry.
