Mr. Tightwad's Extremely Hardcore Tips on Saving Money Continued

)Don't Buy Sugar at all : If you work in an office this definitely applies to you. Someone or somebody is always on a diet and are desperately trying to dump their sugar snacks/treats outside their cubicle or pod. Unfortunately it's a lot easier to find then the water cooler.
)Get your own Plastic Drinking Cups : If you live in a city/town that has a professional sports franchise you can start your own cup collection. People who order the large soda tend to leave their cups underneath their seats and/or laying somewhere on the ground after the game is over. It's a freebie souvenier that you never have to pay for. All you have to do is go on a scavenger hunt for cups of your hometown team.
)Make your own Calendar : Why waste $15 on buying a piece of paper before year end. Still after the New Year calenders are knocked down to about $10 or maybe 25% to 50% off. You could create a calender with computer software and/or draw up a homemade one.
)Cream it up (Cereal) : Nowadays it seems like we pay the fool that's on the cover box of the cereal with boxes of cereal costing about $3 to $5 a whack. Why spend that money for a bunch of evil carbohydrates and starches just to pay for Mr. Cereal Man's next set of golf clubs. If you buy farina at your local wholesale club for $5 that contains about 90 servings, you only pay about $.06 a day for a serving of hot cereal.
)Do Chat Rooms not Long Distance Phones : It seems like we have tons and tons of chat rooms over the Web. Chances are that they're free to use after you sign up and register. With the regional phone companies turning into worldwide size monster mergers eventually the service tends to go downhill and products and services are jacked up to the point of no return.
)Do Concerts/Theatres VHS Style : Why pay $35 to $50 dollars when you can buy that same concert on tape for around $20 to $30 dollars. Or better yet rent that concert at your video store for about the price of a daily lunch special.
)Procrastinate for Magazines : Magazines tend to be hot sellers when they're hot and fresh off the press for about $2 to $5 on average. Granted it's not glamourous to get the table scraps but if you wait for about a couple of weeks to about a month then eventually that magazine will be trashed and you could possibly salvage a freebie out of this.
)Be your own Contractor : Nowadays with magazines and books on how to do about just everything you could sit down and read that book on how to fix a leaky faucet. Contractors seem to get paid more an hour than an elevator tech and/or limosine driver. The sad thing is what contractors make an hour an ordinary person makes in 1 day. It primarily depends on what field they're in.
)Save your Chips (Broken Soap) : People tend to take soap for granted. If they're any signs that it breaks in half then they tend to throw it out. Just have the patience to use broken soap even though it's tedious to work with.
)Use Sand not Salt (Winter) : Salt should be extinct. It eats parts of your car, the road, and looks ugly on your footwear. Salt tends to disappear where as sand can be swept up during spring and summer street cleaning. Salt is like renting something only for a short time where sand is like investing for the present and the future. In other words it's in abundance and can be reused over-and-over.
