A selection of photographs of Hamworthy Junction Station taken on 13 January during brief sunny periods between clouds. The Down platform has been partially cleared of bushes & weeds as have the signal wires & point rodding running alongside the Hamworthy Goods branch. The signal box is more noticeably `bowed' than this time last year with the outer ends sinking approx 1/8 of an inch lower than when measured in Dec 1998. It will require serious repairs & strengthening soon to prevent the building breaking its back. The future of the Hamworthy Signalbox is unsure at this time, with numerous `rumours' of what may be done but nothing `official' yet I can only keep waiting & watching.
Wooden sleepers still survive on the section of the UP main line that crosses Bridge 82a, the stations pedestrian underpass.
