  1. Boys graduating from Tiger Cub Dens, or joining Cub Scouts in the Second Grade or above, begin advancement by earning the Bobcat Badge.
  2. The Bobcat Badge is the very first rank that EVERY boy MUST earn when entering Cub Scouts. The purpose is to instill in the new Cub Scout, the 8 "tracks" or basic tenets of Cub Scouting.
  3. The Bobcat trail is a relatively short set of activities that boys in the "Wolf Den" accomplish early in the year.  (There is no "Bobcat Den".)  They then begin the longer and more challenging Wolf trail.
