Silver's Edge

Author: Anne Kelleher
Series: Silver's
Publisher: Luna
Pages: 539
Rating: 5/5
Read: 1

There is war circulating through the mortal world, and the other world, the sidhe world Faerie, is going to suffer. For both worlds, Sanhaim is coming, a season where the barriers between the two worlds thin, and both worlds are most vulnerable to goblin attacks. The silver caul that protected the Faerie and the goblin world from silver, which is lethal to sidhes and goblins, is stolen.

Nessa is a blacksmith's daughter in the mortal world, but when her father vanished as a dead goblin was found, she crossed over to Faerie to find him. There she met Artimour, the half mortal son of Queen Almendinine's sister Vivara, who swore to her that he would help her find her father if she returned to the mortal world to warn the villages about the goblins.

Dalpheana is a sidhe, sent by her mother to speak with Queen Almendinine about the dying cattle. She suspected that the silver caul has poisoned the land of Faerie. There, she was led on and lied to by one of the Queen's councilers, and as they traveled through mirrors, they found that the caul was gone. Becoming a pawn in politics, Dalpheana escapes with her gremlin to find Vivara.

Cecily is Duke of Allovar Donnor's wife, but she wants to be released from his grasp so she can be free to love Kian, Donnor's first knight. Paying attention to those around her, she believed that something strange was is going on as she saw Cadwyer and another sidhe.

Cadwyer and this sidhe, F, promised Donnor that the sidhe men would protect Donnor's men and win the war, with certain agreements. These two men ask Dougal, Nessa's father to create a silver dagger, but never recieved it. They asked Nessa to create another silver dagger for them. These two silver daggers are important to the whole story...

Despite its interesting story and characters, there are so many typos and mistakes. The worst I've found was in the last few pages of the book, "off," was typed "of,f" and the same phrase was repeated, first as the last sentence of a paragraph, and then as the first sentence of the first paragraph. Other than those two major errors, there was really nothing to really throw me off.

I recommend this book. It was written for female readers, and because of the romance and sensual artistic details about parts of the body, it should be kept that way. The errors don't matter as much to me, but the storyline was great.
