The Time Machine

Author: H.G. Wells
Pages: 94
Rating: 5/5
Read: 1

H.G. Wells strikes again. XP I loved this book.

The narrator tells as he watches and listens to the time-traveler, who created the time machine. The time-traveler explains his theory on the fourth dimension, time, and how he had created a machine that can move around in time. As the narrator and others meet, the time-traveler returns in bad shape, and explains the story of his adventures.

The time-traveler goes into the future. Faster and faster he goes, the earth revolving in his sight, sun and moon, sun and moon. When he was 800000 years into the future, he stopped. He takes the two levers from the time machine to explore. He was in a large open area with plants and flowers, and the only building was a large Sphynx.

As he wanders around, he finds other beings, with blonde locks and bright skin. They are amused at him, and he notes that they speak with the simplest of sentences, and only have a short attention span, as they got bored with him rather quickly and went to play elsewhere. He also noted that they were vegetarians, and all they ate were large fruit, and that he hasn't seen another animal besides them. As he returned to find his time machine, it was gone!

And thats when you have to read. Eloi and Worlocks are the two different divisions of the future of humankind. Eloi are the stupid yet pretty creatures, and Worlocks are the smart yet ugly creatures. Based on today's society, or actually, then's, people will divide with natural selection.
