Vampire MountainAuthor: Darren ShanSeries: The Saga of Darren Shan Pages: 195 Rating: 5/5 Read: 3 So far, I think the fourth book of Cirque Du Freak, Vampire Mountain, is the best. I mean, Darren meeting the wolves and Lefty speaking, its just my favorite. Without notice, Mr. Crepsley told Darren that they had to journey to Vampire Mountain to present themselves to the Vampire Princes. As they were preparing, Mr. Tiny gave them two little people, one was Lefty, who had a limp. Little people were hooded figures who never spoke; they only ate and obeyed every order. Irritated at first, they accepted, not knowing Mr. Tiny's intentions. Mr. Crepsly explained to Darren that the journey was difficult and long. All vampires gathered at Vampire Mountain every 12 years, and in their journey they could not wear shoes. On their way, Darren met a pack of wolves. Darren later learned that wolves and vampires were related. Traveling with the wolves, he and Mr. Crepsley came across a destroyed vampire shelter and another Vampire General, Gavner. Worried about vampaneses, they went off to check their route, just in case. Darren doesn't go; instead, he and Rudy, a pup, went out and played. Rudy climbed a tree and growled. There was a bear behind Darren! The bear attacked, and Rudy jumped onto its face. Hearing Rudy's yapping, other wolves come and help. Darren found himself to the ground, the bear holding him down. Thinking all was lost, the two little people dived into the bear. One of them is squashed, and Lefty stood to accept his fate. Darren jabs a bone into the bear's neck, killing it instantly. Lefty's hood is down, revealing a grey noseless face with round green eyes. Darren asked him if he was okay, and Lefty spoke. He said "Name...not Lefty. Name...Harkat Mulds." I do not want to spoil the whole book for you. There is much much more, and well, you must read the book to find out what happens. Anyway, Cirque Du Freak is a hooking series. I recommend it to anyone who likes vampires. Date: September 14, 2005 |
