Alone

Here I stand,
Embraced by solitude.
Secluded from all the world,
I squirm in my jacket.
Tighter please.
I slip farther from the world they keep above,
I hold on to the dreams in my head.
What can they offer me?
I have been creating something better,
In my world so far apart from theirs.
Inside these desolate white walls,
Alienated by family and friends,
They don’t know me any more,
Don’t want to know me.
I’ve been held back to long.
They can’t understand.
My reflection as unfamiliar as the voices in my head,
Deserted by everyone,
I fall to the ground,
All alone.
