Lady Takeuchi

Monday, 4:30pm
“Yay! We’re free from school for the day! Come on, to Crown Arcade we go!!” Usagi said as she bursted out of the detention room.
Ami looked up from the book that she had been reading while waiting for Usagi, “well, if you’d only come to school early, then you would have been ‘free’ an hour ago.”
“Oh Ami, don’t say that, it spoils the fun of it all! Let’s go!”
“Don’t we have a meeting at Cherry Temple?”
“Oh God, please say that we don’t have one of those things!”
Minako grinned at Usagi, “no meeting today, we’ve been let off by Luna!”
Ami closed her book at that, and hopped of the stool that she had been sitting on. “Well, in that case, I’m going home to get some work done.”
Usagi immediately grabbed hold of Ami’s arm, and dragged her with them. “Ami, if this is going to be your last day on Earth, you wouldn’t have wanted to have spent it studying, now would you? Have some fun!”
“On the contrary, Usagi-chan, I would deeply regret it if I had not finished reading up on my text book.”
Usagi rolled her eyes at that and sighed, “Come on Ami, you are ahead by how many chapters? At the rate you’re going, you would have finished the year’s reading at the end of the month!”
“Actually I have one more chapter until I finish the text for next year’s first semester.”
Minako stared at her, and lowered her voice to a growl, “do you realize, it is NOVEMBER RIGHT NOW??? We’ve only started school for two months, and you’ve finished the book? You are more than a whole year ahead of the whole class!”
Ami shrugged at their strange looks, “the topic was interesting.”
They continued to stare at her and brought out their mangas from their school satchels, “we’d better introduce you to these babies, but for the meanwhile, you come with us.”

Two men sat in the corner of the Crown Café, adjoining the arcade where Rei and Makoto was sitting at the counter, talking with Andrew, the head-employee of the place. The two men looked upon them with interest, and proceeded to approach them. “Ladies, may we buy you a coffee perhaps?”
The taller one of the two blushed immediately and looked away, the skinny one looked at her with keen interest, those dreamy eyes which glimmered with hope and was that… love?
While the other girl smiled confidently and tilted her head up to face the other man, whose intelligent eyes seemed to look right through her and communicated knowledge. She looked at the man, wondering why he had chosen to speak to her, he was more of Ami’s type of person, a person who would be interested in someone who thought a lot. It was not to say that she didn’t think a lot, just not the same academic kind of person that Ami was. She turned to look at Makoto, who was lost a dream world, probably thinking how much he resembled her sempai. Giving her a nudge, Rei nodded in reply for both of them and slid off the stool to take the intelligent one’s arm.

Usagi and Minako stopped at the outside of the Crown Arcade, spying Makoto and Rei on the arms of two unknown men. “Well, that guy sitting beside Makoto sure looks cool, check out that hair!”
Usagi immediately fixed her eyes on what Minako had just pointed out. The skinny man had his hair swept back yet it was full of body, like the Elvis Presley hairstyle, with a single sleek curl barely touching the tip of his nose. It was the hairstyle of the late 80’s, the cool hair, and now, the hairstyle was one which was rarely seen, but caused a great deal of interest when seen.
“He doesn’t look very intelligent to me.” Ami looked at the man doubtfully.
They rolled their eyes up to the heaven and stars when they heard Ami’s remark, “Ami, does it really matter if he is smart or not?”
“Of course it does, without some capability in the mind there can be not compatibility, thus restricting all forms of intelligent conversation. How can there be a relationship of any kind if there be no scholarly converse?”
Usagi smiled as an idea crept into her mind, “Hmm... Ami-chan, and since when were you the expert on love and its affairs when your crush is Einstein?”
Ami blushed and swallowed nervously... “I’m not! Its just that... Einstein’ of relativity is what made him so idolistic in my mind, and THAT comes from the fact that he is intelligent. If he was just another pin-up, he would not be my idealistic person, he has made some fantastic discoveries and mathematical calcuations.  There is no denying it at all!”
“WHAT? Whatever, let’s go in!” With that, Minako dragged Ami into the Crown Café, marching straight up to the table of their interest. “Hi there!”

Rei groaned inwardly, while she was not the smartest of the group, she was incomparable with Minako or Usagi. There could be no loss in her refusing to introduce them to the smart man beside her, and if he was really into an intelligent person, then he would very soon begin latching onto Ami’s brains. However, as a forthcoming Shinto priestess, she knew very well that she would have to do the introductions, it was better to get it done with as soon as possible.  Pointing to the skinnier one, she said “Ossi-san, and Ava-san.”

The gentleman who had been introduced as Ava-san looked at the girl with blue hair with interest, he could already read jealousy in Rei’s mind, and now, he would wait for the blue haired girl’s introduction, if it was proven correct, then it would be time to do his job.  He reached out his hand to shake the other girls’ hands, after all, he did not look Japanese, thus no need to conform to the Japanese traditions of bowing and all. He was surprised when the two blondes seemed to reach out so quickly, yet falter in his grip from unease. His joy at meeting them was evident from the flash of his eyes. They were the ones, the ones he had been looking for, now, only one more remained to confirm all his suspicions and hopes.

Ami hesitated for a brief moment, deep in the pit of her stomach, she wanted to refrain from touching these two people, and stop Usagi and Minako from reaching out to them, but she could find no logical explanation for it. It was not a gut feeling like Rei’s usual reasons for not doing certain things, but instinct, as if her unconsciousness had picked up something that the consciousness did not. She did not want to seem rude, yet Deus had told her to “trust your instincts”. Her hands touched her glasses sub-consciously as she panicked. The only way she could think of to return the politeness that this man was purporting to show was by…

Ava-san was shocked when the girl with blue hair bowed to him, ignoring his outstretched hand.  But by now, he was at least 99% sure that she was the one.  He had never closely examined her face, but she looked somewhat familiar, well, SailorMercury and the Ami Mizuno that he had seen did not wear the reading glasses.  But then… what was the possibility that SailorMars was sitting next to him, SailorJupiter opposite him, and he had just shaken hands with SailorMoon and SailorVenus, yet the blue haired girl was not SailorMercury? Not much, he concluded.
Under pretense of bowing back to her, he stood up and motioned for Ossi-san to follow suit. Leaning forward slightly, he immediately grabbed hold of his target and pulled the ‘pathetic’ being towards him. Their human bodies melted away, revealing their true selves, as Ossify and Avarice. The four girls transformed to their senshi identities, while Ami struggled to reach for her makeup pen.
“Don’t move a muscle, otherwise she is dead! Avarice ordered.
