About Pablo Dominguez

Born and raised in Michigan in 1961, Pablo began drawing at the age of 4. His early influence was his father, Pablo Sr., an accomplished oil painter.  In grade school Pablo amused classmates with drawings of dinosaurs, comic heroes, and other assorted characters.  Many hours were spent exploring and working outdoors while visiting relatives in rural Mexico, and thus began his fascination with nature. The artist summarizes his respect for the natural world by stating "I am continually amazed at the beauty, design, and purpose that God has put into his creation of nature and wildlife.

Pablo has a small amount of formal training, though the majority of his art education consists of several informal classes and workshops (including study with master artists Terry Isaac and Paco Young in Montana). His talent has garnered the respect of several local art organizations, as he has been invited to conduct workshops and demonstrations on creating wildlife art.

Travels across the U.S. always include visits to National and state parks, wildlife refuge areas, and large and small zoos, allowing for many hours of observation, sketching, and photographing of wildlife and landscape. He and his wife Charlene do volunteer work with a local animal rescue, and he values his association with caring members of wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers in his home state.

Pablo's artwork continues to be accepted into many juried shows and fine art exhibits regionally, where he has collected a respectable number of awards, and the year 2004 will see the first solo exhibit of his work at the respected Starkweather gallery in Romeo.

The artist and his wife Charlene share their home with their 2 labrador retrievers and 4 cats.
