MUGGLE STUDIES 25 - CLASS POLICIES
There are simple rules that we must follow for this class.
Please read and understand them and direct any questions to me. :)
BASIC CLASS POLICIES
- Respect your professor, the headmistresses, other professors, prefects, the
Head Boy and Head Girl, as well as fellow students at all times.
- Please follow online etiquette.
- No Muggle Bashing.
- If you are having problems with the class, please get in touch with me ASAP.
- Extra credit work and special projects will be given occassionally.
ON LESSONS
- Lessons will be posted on this website and in appropriate threads in the classroom.
- Always read the Class Announcements thread in the classroom.
- All lessons will have associated discussion questions. All students are
expected to post answers to these discussion questions in the appropriate thread
in the classroom.
ON HOMEWORK
- Not all lessons will have associated homework.
- Answers to homework must be sent to my private e-owl. Homework answers
posted publicly will not be graded.
- Homework will consist of two parts:
- BEATERs (Basic, Easy, And Taken
Entirely from Readings) - can be answered just by comprehending
the given readings. BEATERs are due two weeks after the lesson has been posted
and comprises 50% of your homework grade.
- CHASERs (Creativity, Humor, And Some
Easy Research) - are all you will need to finish this part of the
homework. It also comprises 50% of your grade. They are due a month after the
lesson is posted.
- Passing grade for homework is 80% so you cannot hope to pass by submitting
only the BEATERs or only the CHASERs. You'll need to submit both.
- Late submissions will not be graded.
- Two consecutive non-submissions or ungraded homework will earn you a
warning. A second offense will mean you will be force-dropped from the class.
- Always include the references for non-original material you may use in your
homework.
- The 3 best homework (CHASERs) for the month will be featured on this website
and will earn the student 50 additional house points.
GRADING SYSTEM
