In addition to helping new residents to adjust to their new environments, the Newcomers' Club also contributes to the community by making donations to local charities and organizations and by participating in community events.

Most years at Christmastime, the group supports local families in need in an Adopt-a-Family program, buying toys, clothes, and other essentials for a family.

In the past few years, the group has also made donations to the following organizations:

• Martha's Vineyard
• The McCracken County Library
• The March of Dimes
• The Rape Crisis Center
• First Christian Church
• United Church of Paducah
• Paducah Cooperative Ministry

Several members of the group have also made individual contributions in addition to the club's gifts.

In addition, several group members take part in the March of Dimes' Walk America each spring (see pictures below), helping to raise money to prevent birth defects and pre-maturity.
