The Adventures of Paisley Blue

Happy Tax Day! LOL

Yesterday I had one of the neatest experiences. Mechanic, his mother and I went to Westport to meet with some people. After that was finished, we went to the beach. The day was cloudy and windy, and the waves from the ocean were so beautiful.

His mom stayed in the car while Mechanic and I walked across the sand and down a little hill to the edge of the water. As we walked, we picked up shells and smooth rocks, and the surf chased us occasionally. The waves looked real high further out, and I was fascinated by the foam that blew in the wind. I couldn't help but laugh from how happy I was.

Sometimes it was easy to let my imagination run away with itself and think if things were a little different... well... the only thing missing from this perfect picture would have been holding hands and maybe a few kisses. LOL

What was really funny was that all the way down there and all the way back to Seattle I slept. I slept all day Saturday. When we returned from Westport, I took a nap... and I was still able to sleep Sunday night! I guess I was a tired li'l girl.

Then today I was hoping to hear from a certain someone who doesn't want his name mentioned in my journal... and nothing. I started thinking about all the men in my life. It's kinda funny. I have a really good friend at work who is model-gorgeous. Lots of people think she's a hootchie mama, but she's really sweet and, to her taste, unfortunately celibate.

She and I were talking, and she keeps rubbing my arm hoping my luck with men will rub off on her. I don't know what to tell her. I can't imagine that she can't get a date, except that perhaps men are intimidated by her looks. And the ones who do get the balls to talk to her end up hurting her... to my sense of fairness and justice, that's just not right.

I keep teasing her that she needs to get online. Sometimes you have to kiss a few frogs to find the princes. She laughed at that one.

There's a big "event" coming up at work and everyone's getting all worked up in a frenzy over it. I have volunteered to work for the event. For all the hours I put in over the regular workday, I get to take that many hours off. I'm thinking about taking off early on Friday.

Oh, and I have to mention that after work today, Mechanic, Michael and I went shopping. I bought three pair of shoes in one day. I'm still in shock over that. I kinda feel like I'm on my way to becoming Imelda Marcos. LOL

I really needed tennis shoes bad. My old Nike's had a blowout and with all the rain in Seattle, my left foot was always wet. So... I've got some neat tennis shoes. Then we went to another store and I found two pair of dressy type shoes. Well, okay, not strappy sandals, but they're dressy for me. One of them has something like a three or four inch wedge heel. I'm not used to being that tall! Those are the ones that Mechanic picked out.

Mechanic said I needed to come up in height... and those shoes definitely do it. :-)

Michael was kinda gloating that he found the other two pair of shoes for me. To be honest, I felt kinda spoiled the way that Michael was slipping the different shoes on my feet for me, and how the guys were looking through all the racks of shoes with me.

Speaking of Michael, he started a new job today... at last. *sigh* I hope he sticks with it for a while. Even though we are not engaged anymore, we're still roommates and he still needs to contribute. And there's always the possibility that I'll make good on my threat, no, make that a promise... that after he had a job, he could move out.

But that's a story for another time....

For now things are going pretty good. I'm not feeling so depressed and I'm not feeling like hurting myself and those are good things. Now if I could just remember to take my medication more regularly, things would really be hopping.

I am back to burying my feelings, though. It's the only way I'm staying sane right now. Oh well... if there isn't something to work on, we'd all get bored, right?

Ciao.
