The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
For a laid back person like I fancy myself to be, I sure do put in a lot of hours at work. Tonight I worked until 9 pm again. What's up with that? Well, I was preparing for a unique experience. I volunteered to do a 7-10 minute presentation during the 9/11 observation we are holding at work first thing in the morning.
My idea was to provide a mixture of my drawings and photos from 9/11, with music playing in the background. I have put literally hours and hours into this. I am so nervous. However, I am also reminding myself that I am just human, and this is a growth experience. I am stretching by doing this.
Did I sound convincing? LOL
Things have been a little stressful at home due to the negative amount of dough in our wallets. I am very glad that I went grocery shopping - spent a whopping $30 for two weeks for two people. Of course, I was supplementing things we already had here. Still, it feels great to get good deals, and find ways to make things stretch.
But last night I tried to bake potatoes for supper... and Mechanic's potatoes were still crunchy in the middle. Tonight I tried to make mashed potatoes but apparently used at least twice as much liquid as necessary. My attempts at cooking are becoming legendary. LOL
I have to admit I have some interesting stuff going on that doesn't even make it to the journal. I have met an interesting woman and we hang out and talk... it's nice to have a girlfriend. I have to get to know her better before I can find the right nickname for her, though. I have a very hot email correspondence going on with a guy who has a very active imagination. And there are others who sprinkle bits of sunshine into my days.
Life is good right now. It's hard, but it's good. Hmm... I like that phrase. LOL Talk at ya later.
