The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
Life seems so beautiful right now. I've been incredibly happy and walking around smiling a lot. Even in the middle of the rain I can feel sunshine on my face. I'm not trying to build castles in the air... just trying to be in the moment and enjoy the positive things happening right now.
On a whim I took advantage of a free astrological report at astrology.com. It's an Indra report, supposedly about my inner self. I enjoy looking at those things to see how closely they might reflect my real self. This one was pretty cool, so I thought I would go ahead and share it here. For fun, I am going to underline the things that I feel really do describe me.
The Sun - Your Ego Structure
The Sun is the center of the solar system. All life revolves around it within this sphere. In the same way, the ego is the center of personal identity and gives integration and continuity to individual experience. In this sense, it might be said that the Sun shows character. This is the fixed pillar at the center of the person around which all else circulates or revolves.
The sign placement of the Sun shows the center of the individual's basic character. The sign of the Sun is the most primary indicator of the forms of experience you are attracted to. Further, this most important placement shows how and why you are attracted to these experiences.
The house placement of the Sun sign shows the primary area of expression for the individual in life. There is a psychological, emotional, and physical significance to the house placement of the Sun. Aspects to the Sun show ways that the core of the personality are linked to other component elements in the individual's life. Aspects to the Sun have a deep and overriding significance in the life of the individual and are generally more important, more prominent than other aspects in the chart.
SUN IN LIBRA
You are a good negotiator and a natural diplomat, always seeking harmony and always seeing other people's point of view. You have a love of beauty, are inspired by ideals, and have an especially strong sense of justice. You want your surroundings to reflect your vision of the world which is oriented to beauty, harmony and balance. You are so friendly and so diplomatic that you may seem to lack resolve to others. You see infinite shades of meaning to each issue and it appears as if you are inconsistent. [Who wants to think they are inconsistent?] Your life improves when you don't procrastinate and when you aren't afraid to tell people your point of view even when you know they don't want to hear it. Be more decisive.
Mercury is the closest planet to the Sun. From the viewpoint of the earth it seems to dart back and forth across the face of the Sun, having three retrograde cycles a year. Mercury is the planet of your mental life. It shows how you receive, process and disseminate information. The sign placement of Mercury shows your basic attitude and mental habits. The aspects of Mercury show your scope of vision and your methods for accomplishing tasks.
MERCURY IN SCORPIO
Your mind is penetrating and critical. Avoid being too secretive and you will learn more. Your manner of expression is diplomatic but doesn't truly reflect the peevish probing that is always going on. [Peevish??] You are a shrewd negotiator who expresses even controversial ideas in a rather positive manner. Your ideas are predetermined but you are smart enough to know that people don't usually respond favorably to you if they suspect this. You are in your own depths and keep your own counsel. Your life is smoother when you learn to relax, enjoy life, and adjust to changes going on around you.
Hmm, that's an awful lot of underlining isn't it? *giggle*
My daily tarot card for today is The Lovers. In the analysis in that scope, it reminds me that the real challenge of romantic relationships is in not losing ourselves in the energy of the new pairing. It is important to remember to focus on myself, my overall path in life, and not give that up in order to chase a fantasy that is not based in reality.
In other words, keep it "real" - right?
One of the Yahoo groups I belong to has a monthly questionnaire that gets posted, and everyone answers the questions and shares them with the group. It generates discussion and thought that I find helpful, insightful and interesting.
One of the questions this month is to list five things that you are grateful for today. I always appreciate it when that one pops up because its easy to get caught up in the daily activities of living and not be thankful for the blessings - both large and small - that we are given.
I try to be mindful of the good things happening in my life. Right now those include the wonderful relationships I have with friends and family, the challenges and rewards of my career, the level of health that I do enjoy, the clarity I have about who I am and where I am going, and the wondrous awe of living in this day and age where there is so much happening, so many wonderful things to enjoy, and so much potential.
And I am thankful we are not at war today. I don't know how much longer I will be able to make that statement... so I cherish it today.
And then there is the Smart family in Salt Lake City who is grateful that their teenage daughter, Elizabeth, was found alive today, after being kidnapped from her own bed nine months ago. That is such wonderful news. She was taken during a summer when several children were abducted and they were all high-profile media stories. For once, there's a happy ending.
I hope there's a happy ending for me, too.
