The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
I feel like there's not a whole lot to write... but I'm sure I'll fill the page. LOL
I have been home sick most of the week. I went in to the office on Monday but I wasn't feeling well. Still, I was trying to stick it out. However, I have just been downright ill and stayed home the rest of the week. Truly, I felt like I didn't have a choice because I couldn't keep anything down and I felt like I was living in the bathroom.
Okay, so maybe that's TMI (too much information) but that's what my week has consisted of. There have been some rays of light, though.
For example, Lancelot always brings a smile to my face. He's been terribly stressed and busy getting ready for a 10-day trip. Still, he has made the time to send me emails that say the most wonderful things. We are going to be out of touch during that time and I already miss him...
Here and there I have been chatting with friends, including my friend Daisy who is now living just outside St. Louis. She and her friend of many years moved out to Seattle several weeks ago, planning to stay here permanently. However, once they arrived, there was a whole lot of drama and, seeing as how it was the first time for her to be so far from home, she got incredibly homesick. For many reasons, they decided to return to Missouri.
Since Daisy's departure she has moved a small distance from home to live with a friend who is getting married in August. Daisy is going to be a bridesmaid. On top of this, she is dealing with the change in relationship status with the young man she accompanied to Seattle. That's never easy for anyone.
Still, in the brief time that she was here, we had some long conversations and shared some laughs over cocktails and karaoke. In some ways, she reminds me of myself when I was younger. I think she is an interesting young woman with a world of possibilities in front of her. She seems to enjoy my offbeat sense of humor, and I am a good listener.
Over the last several days there have been some wonderful and big changes at home. Michael has been very industrious. One day he cleaned the living room and another day the bathroom. He's been sharing his wonderful talent in cooking. Today he moved Zeus from my room to the other room, affectionately called the living room. In reality, though, three of the four people in this house sleep in that room. So why isn't that the bedroom? But then again, that's where the television and the big bay window are located. Anyway, Zeus seems to be happier now, part of the action, part of the flock. He likes watching what is going on.
Mechanic has been gone for a few days, spending time with one of his friends. I wonder if he'll be surprised when he comes home and sees all the changes. Well, they did stop by yesterday for a few hours to watch a movie and socialize with us. Mechanic's friend is really nice, far as I can tell so far.
Currently I am doing some reading and thinking about ethics in magick. It's a pretty big topic all by itself. My purpose in doing this is to write an article for my Paisley Magick site.
I'm really proud of that site. It is slowly growing to include in one place all the things I want and need. I can access it from anywhere and have information at my fingertips. The funny thing is that it is getting hits from other people, too. Maybe others are finding it useful, as well.
Right now Michael is baking a chocolate swirl cake. It makes the whole house smell good. I did a few dishes this morning (I know, alert the media!) I've kept my breakfast so far, and that's a good thing. I'm hoping this is finally starting to go away. Monday morning I want to go to work and tackle everything that I know has been piling up.
In the meantime, I'm taking it real easy... laying down and reading... napping... and working on websites.

P.S. - The cake is fabulous!
