The Adventures of Paisley Blue

At work this week I was trained on another system. I am now able to do any task available, and unlike some of my co-workers, I enjoy working all three systems. Now I can understand why some folks would rather work one over the other two. After all, in the time I was working on that particular task, I was able to finish two books. It is a little more demanding to be actually on the phones, selling and looking up information, but I love that interaction with the customers. When I arrive for work, I ask the supervisors where they would like me to work. In other words, I don't ask or demand anything in particular. So far they have told me that they love my attitude.

I have also been spending as much time with CB as possible, enjoying every moment together. He's so amusing and fun to talk with, in addition to being so good-looking! For the last two nights, we have played dominoes. The first night, I beat him by 85 points, but last night he spanked me, with a margin of over 100 points. He taught me to play, so for me it was a big achievement to beat him. Let's just say it hasn't happened all that often.

Apparently last night about the time I was getting off work, a SWAT raid was being made on the third floor of my building. When I arrived, the cops were still cleaning up, but they did allow me to go inside. They used a battering ram to open the door of the hotel room/apartment they raided. This morning the splintered remains of the door were in the dumpster. I'm glad I was not there when it went down. I could just picture myself curled up in a corner, wondering what the heck was going on. There would have been no way I would have investigated, either. I'm sure they were loud enough, though, and I would have heard that infamous yell, "Freeze! Police!"

Sometimes I wonder what lessons I am supposed to be learning at this time in my life. Never would I have imagined that I would be in this situation. Still, I admit that there are new things to see and hear everyday. I am trying to stay open to learning, so hopefully I can progress onto another stage of my life. Perhaps that will include an apartment with my own bathroom and a full kitchen. A window that looks out onto something other than another building would be nice, too. Ah, well, I am alive and safe and sleep in a warm, dry bed at night, so I am happy.
