The Adventures of Paisley
Blue

Yesterday was
my first day back to work since Samhain. I was scheduled to go
back last Friday, November 3rd. Actually that day I was not
feeling well, so I made it to the Emergency Room. I was seen,
given a prescription, and released. I went to the pharmacy to
fill the scrip, when I was injured.
I was taken by
stretcher, on backboard with cervical collar, back to the ER,
where I remained for another 5 hours. The nurses left a
message for my husband with the building manager. When CB
finally got the message, he ran all the way to the hospital to
find out what was wrong with me. (We only live a few blocks
from this hospital.) He arrived about an hour before they
released me.
In the aftermath, I am in a lot of pain.
Sometimes I think it's a little unfair that this has happened
to me, but then, nobody really promised that life would be
fair, did they? So in the meantime, I am following up with
doctors and other appropriate professionals.
I've been
doing a lot of reading in preparation for writing an article
for the Yule issue of Widdershins. I was so excited to see my
artwork in the Samhain issue of that publication, that it has
spurred me on. I've pointed out the pages with my artwork to
the proprietors of the two pagan shops closest to me, as well
as to my friends. I guess everyone knows I'm pretty excited
about it.
Well, that is about all for now. I know it's
not much, but most of my time has been spent in a haze of
pain, just trying to get through each day. I hope your
November is going better than mine so far.
