The Adventures of Paisley
Blue
What a delightful Samhain this has been!
Today at work there was a Halloween party, with
costume contest AND food contest for the potluck buffet. I was
unable to afford a costume, and without much to draw from at
home, it's not like I could just reach into the closet and
find something odd and different to wear.
I enjoyed
seeing everyone in costumes, as I journeyed through town on my
way work, and especially after work. So much creativity behind
these outfits! I saw Elvis, and a Russian czar and his
queen... several interesting figures, and Snow White! I loved
it.
After work I went to a party at Edge of the
Circle, and met a very nice family. I hope that the mom and I
will become good friends. We seem to have a lot in common.
That is exactly what I hoped to do with this party -- find a
like-minded friend.
Now, I contemplate the meaning of
Samhain. We remember the dead, their memory, how they affected
our lives. I miss my grandmother. I know now that she was some
sort of witch, whether that is what she called herself or not.
She tried to pass that learning on to me, in the times we had
alone together. She was a big influence on me. At Samhain, she
is the one I think of most.
Have a wonderful day! I
know I will.
