Trip to Pakistan

In this Millenium year, Pakistani American Congress has started a new tradition called "Trip to Pakistan".

We plan to take a Pakistan friendly US congressman or senator to Paksitan every year and host a reception in his/her honor. The purpose of this program is to initiate and enhance people to people contacts between the American and the Pakistani people through their respective representatives

This year, we held a dinner/reception in the honor of Congressman David Bonior, Democratic whip in the Unites States House of Representatives. Congressman Bonior represents the 10th Distric of the state of Michigan which includes the Macomb and St. Clair counties.

Another salient feature of this year's trip was the meeting between the board members of PAC, led by its president Dr. Riaz Ahmad, and the government high ups and the think tanks in Pakistan.

The trip was short but very productive. Our board members spent a busy schedule in Pakistan shuttling between Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad.
