Bancolombia www.bancolombia.com.co , in the hipermarket right across the street will change you Travellers cheques from 8 AM til 8 PM monday thru Saturday, at a very good rates. It is possible that they will tell you to come back in a while because only 2 out of the 4 employes are allowed to cash them, but their bussines hours are better than the usual 8 to 11.30 and 2 till 4 mon.-friday You better bring to Colombia American Express Travellers Cheques, they are the easiest to change.

Banco Santander www.bancosantander.com.co , will cash your cheques at also a very good rate,(December 07-2005 NOW THEY START CASHING EURO TRAVELERS CHEQUES AT A DECENT RATE), only in the downtown office, 1 block from Junin con Ayacucho. Oficina Principal de Medellin: Carrera 49 Nº 50-10 Tel.511-8671 ,511-5251 511-5304. People who can not get cash advances with their card through ATMs have told us that in the Banco Santander ATMs network where the only place where they were able to get money.

Under no circumstances change cheques at Lloyd´s Bank or Banco Union Colombiano, their rates are too low. There are many ATMs in the supermarket across the street, they accept Visa,Mastercard,Cirrus and Plus among others

The golden rule for Colombia is NOT to bring cash dollars but travelleres cheques. They are paying 2140 for your cash, and 2250 for your travellers cheques, belive it or not!!! Or just use your debit or credit card ,you will also get a good rate. Remenber NOT to bring cash dollars or Euros(worst). Also the rate for Travellers Cheques in Euros is terrible low.Bring American Express US Dollars Travellers Cheques and you will get the most out of your money, even if you have paid 1 or 2% commision for them. This advice is free of charge and you will thanks us.:):):
