Fish Panel

Fish Panel

I made this in a night class. This was also the last time I brought all my equipment in, that was way to difficult. Since then I brought in pre-cut and pre-foiled projects in.

For this project I wanted to give it a mixed blue background, instead of the usual one color. All the blues worked pretty well together except for 2 pieces which were way to dark, and just sticks out.

To give the solder a more interesting look, I patinaed the fish and some of the other elements black. While the water I patinaed copper, the jug greyed. I used Q-tips to apply the patina carefully.

The treasure chest has mini gems glued to it to give it a nice sparkle. The wheel is made up from a brass gear, in which I smeared solder onto giving it a wood grain look, along with some bent wire to make it look like a ship's wheel.

I framed it in a regular, cheap painting type frame, in which I painted gold. To give it an accent, I put shells into two of the corners.
