This is the main grinder bench. From left to right: Taurus Ring Saw, Inland Twin Spin, Inland Wizard Grinder, Inland Wiz Grinder, Gemstone Lapidary Saw, and the Bevel Max bevel grinder.
I use the ring saw sometimes, but it isn't a critical machine that I use all the time. I use the Twin Spin whenever I need a straight flat edge or compound miter corner. The Twin Spin is fixed with a 5" disc, and a 1/8" head. The Wizard grinder, is my main grinder. I have a 1" general bit, with a 1/4" hollow, hole cutting bit attached to the head. To grind real small pieces (I'm talking about glass that you lose in the grinders grid), I made a platform to place those pieces of glass on. The main grinder has a shield attached to keep the glass chips from flying onto my arms and into my eyes.
On The ceiling, I attached a small plastic pipe attached to a valve tap (the type you hook up to a refrigerator for the water supply). It has a valve of it's own, and I use to fill up my grinders, fill up the resivoir on the Twin Spin, and as a water supply when I'm cutting a hole.
I rarely use this other grinder, it was my first grinder. Currently it's hooked up with a 3/4" speed bit. I occasional use this if I have to grind thin strips down, when I don't want to touch the setup on my main grinder.
The lapidary saw, I barely use. I saw it somewhere and said, "oh, I have got to get this!" I use it to cut rock and shells. It has a diamond sintered blade on it. The blade vibrates so badly I can't use it to cut glass. The spindle has a 1/2" portion that fits in the 1/2" hole that's in the blade. The hole in the blade, has a 5/8" hole with a 1/2" hole, cut out of a sticker, stuck to the blade over the 5/8" hole, which came off as soon as I touched it. The blade wobbles, it vibrates, it's a little bowed, due to a terrible design. If I buy a new one - it won't be a Gemstone.
The bevel grinder has problems of it's own. It cracks all my glass. The paper discs shatter, the cerium oxide sprays all over the place. The water in the bottle trickles out, the video showed pouring out. The drain is located on the side, and drains on your table, it's too difficult finding a container that will fit here. It's a piece of junk, don't buy it.
This is my came saw. I don't work with came, but this is my came saw, I have a came bender and a came notcher as well, but I don't work with came. I use this saw to cut my brass stock. Behind it is my marshmellow kiln. It's a Quickfire 6. It works well enough, a larger one would be nicer, but where would I put it.
You've probably noticed my small tool collection on these walls. There is a separate section on how I organize these tools.
