I have a lot of extra stuff that I need to keep in boxes. In past pages I've mentioned how I've stored items. First in one big box, then in a few small boxes, and it keeps getting divided until all of my things are separated neatly. The above is my main jewel box. You can find this type of box at Sears or Home Depot. It has a top sections and a bottom sections, which has larger bins.
This box has just jewels in it. Large on the bottom, smaller one's on the top. If I have one type of jewel, it has it's own section. Otherwise it's mixed with like jewels. Hearts, go with anything heart shaped. Faceted with facets, round with round, etc.
Recently I moved all my dichroic gems to this box. I get these gems from chandeliers, and ugly costume jewelry. These gems were crowding my jewel box, so now it has a box of it's own. It's pretty empty as you can see. The ball shaped one's are kept together. In the future as I get more, They'll be separated by size.
Yes I do separate the blobs. These blobs are special though. These blobs are solid, opalescent, or sandblasted. I have another box that has the iridescent blobs. And another box that holds all the clear ones.
I also have a box just for marbles, not all of them, just the iridescent ones. They used to be mixed, but I have too many, and upgraded the container.
These boxes contain other jewels. Some are silhouettes, some are odd beads, other's are stones. I have small fluorite stones (purple stones), from a necklace. Most of my beads, and interesting stones come from necklaces, the uglier the better. The shiny black ones on the right are Hematite, they are slightly magnetic, and fairly dense and heavy. Miscellaneous tiles, odd jewels, anything can be found in these boxes.
Bead boxes, that's all what's in here. Small beads of turquoise, pink quartz, whatever I got, will go into here.
All my jewelry findings are kept here. Along with the occasional mouse or teddy bear that I get packages of at garage sales, and craft stores. Any jewelry items I take apart, the findings will all be saved and kept.
All my Filigree is contained in this box. Corners, ball feet, little alligators, it's all here. Hinges are stored in a separate place.
All my shells used to be in a cabinet behind my bench. I've moved them to the large cabinet in the back. They get a shelf of their own. They are separated by type and size. I have snail shells, all sorts of spiral shells, flat shells, you name it, I probably have it.
This is where all those boxes go. The picture on the top are all the boxes you've seen on this page. The second picture is another shelf that contains a box of Wasser glass, empty plastic boxes, and a few other things.
