Gurnamantz's Hermitage

This was the last of Linderhof's garden follies, and apparently was the most poorly built. Ludwig ordered it's construction in 1877, and stood near Hunding's Hut. It was based on the stage set of Act 3 of Wagner's Parsifal. Here Ludwig could escape to a dream world based on the legends of the Holy Grail. It collapsed during in 1945, and so the only record we have of it are early photographs, such as the one above.
