Introduction to Art of
The Louvre
The following
pages are dedicated to the Louvre Museum in Paris France. It is an art
Museum that has to be seen to be believed. If you have never been to Paris,
you cannot miss this. No matter what your level of art appreciation, you
will be overwhelmed by this fabulous museum. Some of the paintings are
enormous. Then others are so intricate. (Some are both!)
I took camcorder
shots of the Mona Lisa that turned out well, but my still shots did not.
There was a horde of people surrounding this painting and one had to be
persistent just to get close enough to really see it. The painting has
a smile on it that is chilling because it is not at all the same as viewing
a reproduction. In person she looks at one hauntingly and as if she might
be full of mischief. Of course, paintings are not the only works of art
in the museum.
I have included some of the artworks
below and I hope that they will stimulate your appetite to see them for
yourself....
The Art of The
Louvre
The Astronomer
Jan Vermeer
