This Night Would Never End
I haven't felt this way in years,
I forgot I could feel such a thrill!
Isn't there something somewhere in the Bible
About the earth standing still?If I had but one wish
This night would never end
And the day would wait in vain.
If I had but one wish
The moon would stay where it is
And never wane.
The clock would be unable to advance
And only keep time to my heart,
And we would go on with our romance
Until the world falls apart.
May the stars remain in the sky,
And the sun refuse to ascend---
If only this night,
This fabulous night
Would never ever end.
