Meet Radar

Waking from a nap.
(This was taken a couple of weeks after we got him.Aug.1977.)

A month or so later. 1977

Radar in his wading pool.

Where's lunch....I'm starving!

Boy this is good!

"There must be something in this pocket for dessert?"(1978)

Just what I need after a long day...too bad they didn't save me some!

Radar and Dad taking a nap!

Radar was left to die along with two other siblings when his mother was killed on the highway. The person who took Radar couldn't keep him, so I ended up with a raccoon. He was as wise as most people and once he saw you do a simple thing...he could do it and never forgot how! He could turn on the washer and play in the water, flush the toilet and play in the water, turn on the tap and play in the water! But hated to have a bath. When he turned on the stove we knew we would have to keep him in his own room when we weren't home! I took him for walks using a halter and leash, if anything scared him he would climb up my leg to my arms. When he got to the age when he wanted a mate (we were advised not to neuter him, in case something happened that he had to go back out into the wild, he may be an outcast.) we took him to a Wildlife Farm where he could live out the rest of his life with others of his own kind. It was the hardest thing I ever had to do, even after all these years and lots of pets I still find it hard. With Radar and Moucher we never watched tv, we watched them!
