This Indenture made the 29th day of July in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twelve Between Henry Hollman of Lincoln County & State of North Carolina of the one part & Joseph Fisher Esquire of said County and State son in law to the said Henry Hollman of the other part Witnesseth that the said Henry Hollman as well for and in consideration of the natural love and affection which he hath and beareth unto the said Joseph Fisher Esqr his son in law as also for the better maintenance and preferment of the said Fisher hath given granted aliened enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these presents doth give grant bargain sell alien and Confirm unto the said Fisher a certain Messuage & tenement lying on the South side of the Catawba river Opposite to Where third little River discharges itself into the same and about three miles below the Horse ford in the County of Lincoln and State of North Carolina Begining at a red Oak tree on the bank of the river running thence South 40 Chains to a Pine then East 55 Chains to a post oak tree then North 40 Chains to a Dogwood Saplin on the bank of said river then up said river to the place of Begining Containing 220 acres It being part of a 350 acre tract originally granted by the late Earle Granville unto William Sherrill by Indenture bearing date the seventh of January 1761 And by said Sherrill conveyed unto the said Henry Hollman by Deed Dated 4th July 1782__
Also another tract of land in Lincoln County and State of North Carolina on the waters of the Catawba river Joining his own land Philip Hawser and Sherrills lands Begining On a White oak his corner on the bank of the river his own corner and runs along his own line N. 89. E. 86 poles to a pine his corner for his two tracts then along a line of his lower tract North 87. E. 220 poles to his post oak corner near an old School house then the same course fifty poles to a small white Oak on the East side of a small branch then a new line not marked South 13. E. 160 poles to a post Oak called Bullingers corner thence along said line No. 75. W. 140 poles to a Hickory then South 43. West 83. poles to a Black oak Philip Hawser Corner then Along his line North 55 W. 127. poles to a Black Oak his Begining corner then North four poles to a red oak then along bollingers line West 120 poles to a small black oak on Sherrills line then along it North 120 poles to a Stake on the river bank then down the meanders to the Begining Containing 300 acres 160 acres of which being sold is Excepted As appears by Original State Grant unto Henry Hollman No. 1174 Dated the 28th Septemr 1798 Together with all and singular the appurtenances Houses Buildings lands Timber and Trees waters and water Courses Easements and improvements thereon or in any wise appertaining and the remainder and remainders rents Issues and profits of the aforesaid lands and premises and all the Estate right Title interest claims and demand whatsoever of the said Henry Hollman of or unto either of the above tracts of land To Have and To Hold the aforesaid lands and premises the hundred and sixty acres sold Excepted hereby given and granted unto the said Joseph Fisher his heirs and assigns to the only proper use and behoof of the said Joseph Fisher his heirs and assigns forever And He the said Henry Hollman doth for himself his heirs Executors & Administrators Covenant and grant to and with the said Joseph Fisher his heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said Joseph Fisher his heirs and assigns shall and lawfully may from henceforth and forever hereafter peaceably and quietly have hold Occupy possess and enjoy the said two Described tracts of land and premises the above 160 acres Excepting hereby given granted or [----ded] so to be with their appurtenances free Clear and discharged of and from all former and other gifts bargains and sales the 160 acres excepted And from all troubles charges or Incumbrances whatsoever had made done or committed or suffered by him the said Henry Hollman his heirs Executors or administrators or any Other person Or persons whatsoever lawfully claiming or to claim by from or under him them or any of them In Witness whereof the said Henry Hollman hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal the day and Year first Above Written
