| I watched as Sunny looked around the suite. She seemed to be shocked at all the stuff in the room. It was A.J.’s idea to get everything. At first I was angry with him for making me spend so much money, but now I’m not. I have to thank him for it. “Would you like me to show you to your room,” I asked her. “My room?” “Yeah, one of my friends, A.J. was staying in here, but he left so you can use his room.” “I didn’t want to take his room.” “He’s staying in another one of my friend’s room. Nick’s girlfriend was staying, but she left early so he agreed to let A.J. stay with him.” “Oh OK, I didn’t know A.J. was staying someone.” “Don’t worry about A.J. If he needed to he could borrow some money & go get a simple little room to stay in.” “You act as if money is nothing.” “Well doing the type of job I do, not having any money isn’t an big issue.” “What do you mean?” “Well I am a professional singer. Have you every heard of the Backstreet Boys?” “Yes, my mom listens to them all the time.” “Well, I’m a member of that band.” “Now I get it. You sell all those albums, go on these big tours just so women can fall at your feet, & you get paid for it.” “It’s nothing like that. If the women fall at our feet that’s their fault. We like to sing. I realized that some people think like that, but none of it is true. Who told you this?” “Grandma & grandpa, they were talking about it after grandpa talked to you.” “Are A.J. & Nick in the band too.” “Yes, & two other of my friends Brian & Kevin.” “Do you really enjoy it singing?” “Yes,” “Howie, I want to know & I want you to be honest with me, what are you going to do if you are my dad?” |
