Chapter 8
“I don’t know, but I know I have to decide soon.”
“Oh”
“You sound disappointed.”
“I just hate waiting for an answer.”
“Well, I’ll think about it tonight & hopefully I will have an answer in the morning,”
“OK”

The two of us spent the day watching movies & talking. Sometimes Sunny seemed to drift into another world. I felt bad for her. She was loosing her mother & was unsure of what would happen to her. I don’t know why I was thinking this. Maybe it’s a fatherly feeling. It’s scary.
That night I really took my time while I was thinking about what I would do about Sunny. I had two choices, Take her in or dump her & pay child support. The second choice sounded horrible, but I do travel a lot. I finally made my decision, but I am going to keep it a secret from everyone. The next day I took Sunny to the nearby hospital where the DNA, blood test would be taken. Mr. & Mrs. Robins were not there. Sunny went in first & then I went in. The nurse was far from nice. She jabbed the needle into my vein & made nagging comments. We waited an hour for Sunny’s grandparents to show up, but they never did. I took her back to the hotel only to find A.J. in my room. He handed me a note that had been slid under the door. It was from the police. It was a missing persons report stating that Sunny’s grandparents were no where to be found. It was filed by Sarah’s older brother Todd. I called him & he said that his parents had left him a note that they were leaving. This was horrible, but it wouldn’t stop me from doing what I had planed. I told Todd about it & he agreed to do the part that his parents would have done.
