Roger's Place

This video follows seven-year old Roger Blancehette, who has autism, as he attends school with his friends and classmates at Cardinal Leger School in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Interviews with the principal, teachers, teacher's aides, classmates and Roger's mom describe the challenges he brings to the school, and how the school staff work together in the belief that Cardinal Leger will indeed be Roger's Place.

Where Do I Begin? A Workshop on effective intervention for preschoolers with autism or PDD. Parts one and two.

Parents who have recently received a diagnosis of autism or Pervasive Developmental Disorder for their child are often bewildered by the variety of treatment approaches applied to this disorder. Early childhood educators are sometimes equally unsure how to begin helping these children. This video is of a workshop to assist parents and educators in identifying the immediate needs of these children and to present strategies and techniques to address them. It shows how to implement the essential components of a treatment plan for a young child. Presenter: Jennifer Cantello, a Resource Consultant with the Geneva Centre in Toronto.
