I used to lived in this old house about 10 to 11 years ago in a small town of Berlin, Maryland. My father-in-law inherited the house from his parents who built and lived in that house.

When my husband and I got married we moved in there and immediately I knew something was in it. My husband worked the graveyard shift so I and my infant son were most of the time alone at night. It didn't bother me too much after I got use to it.

Anyway, everynight I would hear furniture moving in the room right above mine. There was no one in the room because we never use the upstairs except for storage. This happened every night and would go on until the break of dawn. Several times I got the nerve to investigate but only to find nothing was out of place and the noises would stop for a while. Occasionally, I would have guest spending the night over and they would hear the noises as well. One consolation I get is that I know I wasn't going crazy.

Unfortunately after about two years into my marrage we were having problems and I would have chest pains due to stress. It happened quite often and I could do nothing but take some aspirin and get some rest.

One night, I was having chest pain again. As usual, I took some aspirin and went to bed. I was feeling better when suddenly, the pain came back and felt as if I couldn't take it anymore. It was then that I heard a woman's voice whispering softly above me. I felt a hot and cold sensation rushing through my body, from head to toe. Then my pain gone and everything was quiet. For the very first time it was actually quiet at night.

I went a couple of weeks pain free. It was amazing because I wasn't scared like you would think but just calm. I don't exactly know who or what it was that helped me that night, but I suspected it had to be either a ghost or an angel.
