Today the average person is using technology in dozens of ways that those
involved in the early stages of computer development could only
dream of - if at all imaginable.

The popularity of The Internet now has dramatically changed
the purposes and functionality of both computer use and
communications operations throughout the world.

Following on from such advances in the 1800's as Charles Babbage's Difference Engine and Analytical Engine, and the inventions of the telegraph, telephone, radio -
what researchers, inventors and developers have accomplished in the 20th century is huge.
Computerisition has influence now in almost everything we use or do,
and interlining all, there is

The Web.

The Internet is global communication,
creating a global community.

It is instant information access;
effortlessly providing the means for contact or conference with individuals or groups.

The Internet is the result of continued
research, development and investment by
individuals,
governments,
academia
and commerce & industry.
These people and organisations have all been instrumental in bringing us so smoothly into the

cyber-age  . . .
