The 403 TFS is one of 3 squadron at Wing 4 , Takhli Airforce Base , Thailand. We come under the direct control of the 3rd Air Division of The Royal Thai Air Force . Wing 4 is located in the central plains of Thailand.
The 403 TFS primary mission is Day ground attack . Other missions is to protect the Thailand ADIZ from unidentified aircraft entering from the North and West ,include night attack and Air to Air superiority.
The 403 TFS has flown many type of aircraft in the past. Before being renamed as the 403 TFS , The 43rd TFS flew F-86 F from 1961-1974 .
In 1974,The 43rd TFS was de-activated and Re-activated as 403 TFS Flying A-37 B Aircraft. The A-37's flew 5 years until 1979. In 1979 , The 403 TFS transitioned to the F-5 E/F.The F-5's remained until 1994. In 1995 , The 403 TFS once again trainsitioned to the current fighter , The F-16 .
The F-16 is the most reliable and potent fighter in the world.
